ICQSMS Companion is a program that allows you to send SMS to
cellular phones allover the world from the internet using the ICQ SMS
website.
How does it work?
ICQSMS Companion does not provide a service itself, this
would require a lot of hardware, and a lot of money too. Instead, ICQSMS
Companion allows you to send SMS's by using other sites on the internet
which offer this service for free.
How much does it cost?
Nothing, I will not charge you for using ICQSMS Companion,
and the sites used to send these SMS's are also free to use. But there are
some networks which charge their subscribers for receiving SMS's. Make sure
your contacts are not paying for the SMS's you are sending to them. If you
like this software and would like to see it improved, then I would urge you
to Donate to help me improve it into
something better.
Why is it free?
I believe SMS should be FREE,
and therefore I will not charge you for using it. I won't even show any ads
in the software. The only thing I'm asking you to do for me is to tell
everybody you know about ICQSMS Companion. I'm depending on you to spread
the news about ICQSMS Companion. I will also be looking forward to getting
suggestions from you about how to make ICQSMS Companion better. If you know
a free server that is worthy of adding to ICQSMS Companion please tell me

Why should I use ICQSMS Companion?
ICQSMS Companion allows you to use many ICQ accounts from
the same interface, therefore saves you the time you can spend switching
from one account to the other. You will also use one address book for all
accounts. In addition, you will be able to compose your SMS's offline and
then send these SMS's when you get connected to the internet. To learn more

SMS's, ring tones or Logos to Nokia Phones?
NO, it can't, these features are server specific and not program
specific. If ICQSMS starts to provide these services on its website, I will
integrate them into ICQSMS immediately.
Will you make it possible to send SMS's from ICQSMS
Companion's website?
NOOOO. ICQSMS Companion
is a software program. The website is only here to support this piece of
software. If you need to send an SMS from a website then use the ICQ's website for sending.
How many SMS's can I send per day?
ICQ has a daily SMS limit for each account. I don't know the
exact number but it is somewhere between 10 and 15 SMS per day. So if you
use different accounts to send your SMS's, you will be able to send any
number of SMS's per day. This means unlimited SMS per day. ICQSMS Companion
handles account switching smoothly without your intervention.
Does this mean I can send an unlimited number of SMS's
per day?
Yes, but please use this software sensibly. Do not Spam
someone with ICQSMS Companion. The ICQ server will remain free only if we
use it sensibly. And remember that if you Spam someone, they could Spam you
too.
I was using a the ICQSMS server, but suddenly it stopped working,
why?
The ICQSMS server may be out of reach for some time, or it may be
overcrowded, so it will be temporarily inaccessible. Sometimes the servers
are patched with new data, making ICQSMS Companion unable to communicate
with the new website, in this case keep an eye on the
downloads page to check if a newer
version of ICQSMS Companion has been launched to fix this problem.
ICQSMS Companion still doesn't cover a certain network, when
will I be able to use ICQSMS Companion to send SMS's to that network?
As I've already pointed out, ICQSMS Companion does not provide a service
itself, instead it uses another server to do its job. So if you know a
server or a website that can be used to send SMS's to that network, send me
the name of the site and I will try to add it to the list of servers that
ICQSMS Companion supports. You can find a list of networks covered by ICQSMS

I sent an SMS and ICQSMS Companion told me it was sent successfully,
but the SMS was never delivered, why?
ICQSMS Companion cannot
guarantee the delivery of your SMS, it just sends the SMS to the server and
retrieves a response from the server. If the server says the SMS was sent,
ICQSMS Companion tells you the SMS was sent, if not, ICQSMS Companion tells
you an error occurred. Sometimes the servers are overloaded so it takes some
time for your SMS to be dispatched. If the SMS never reaches its destination
then the server may not be functioning properly. ICQSMS Companion has no way
to find that out, it just tells you what the server tells it.
Why do the SMS's sent by ICQSMS Companion take a long time to arrive?
This is not a problem with the ICQSMS Companion software itself, it is
due to the server you are using to send. The server maybe overloaded so it
takes more time to send your SMS. Sometimes ICQSMS sends SMS's faster to
some networks, and slower to other networks.
