This page will take you through a step by step tutorial to adding your first CD to CD Librarian. When the program starts you will be greeted by a CD shaped form. Click the "Scan a New CD-Rom". You will then be presented with the Scan form. Insert your CD-Rom in the drive and press the "Next" button. CD Librarian should be able to detect your CD, if not, choose the drive's name from the drive list. Then enter a preferred name for your CD. This is the name that will be used to identify your CD later. If you wish to use the CD's volume label as a preferred name, click the "Use Volume Label as Preferred name". Press "Next". Next you can add any comments you like. These comments will be associated with the CD's data. You can leave this comment empty. Press "Next". CD Librarian will now map your CD's directory structure. Press "Next". CD Librarian will now show you all the settings you choose. If all is OK, Press "Finish". Now CD Librarian is ready to start scanning your CD. Press "Start Scanning" to begin. CD Librarian will show you 2 counters. The first will show you the number of files scanned. Click the counter to get a countdown counter of the remaining files. The second counter shows you the time elapsed. Click the counter to get an estimate of the remaining time. CD Librarian will now do some calculations. You will be able to "Scan Another CD" if you want. When CD Librarian finishes press the "Finish" button. Now you will be returned to the Main form. Press the "Explore" button. CD Librarian will open up an explorer like window showing you all the CD's you scanned. Now you have finished Scanning your First CD. You are now ready to learn about CD Librarian's more Advanced Features. |
